BSNL e-tuitions through broadband

BSNL is going to offer e-learning through BROADBAND with special focus on tuitions for students appearing for SSLC and HSLC examinations. This service would be free of cost if opted for Rs. 900 unlimited BROADBAND package. This service would be made available before the students take their exams.

Rcom gets loan from chinese bank

Rcom has recieved a $750 million loan from china development bank that would be invested in building a nation wide GSM footprint for the telephony major.The Anil Ambani group company has received the loan for a ten-year period and at a rate of Libor (London Inter-Bank Offered Rate) plus 80 basis points. RCom had received the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approvals for the loan, sources close to the development said. The loan gives significant advantage to the company's GSM foray as it carries a tenure 3 to 4 years longer and around 50 basis points lower than any other options, they said. When contacted, an RCom spokesperson confirmed the development. The company will use a large part of the loan to purchase GSM electronic equipment from Taiwanese electronic major Huawei. RCom plans to launch nationwide GSM services by the end of this financial year and has announced a capital expenditure of $1 billion for active GSM infrastructure. RCom will lease passive infrastructure from Reliance Infratel, a company in which it holds 95 per cent equity. The company has begun discussions with leading equipment manufacturers such as Huawei, Alcatel Lucent, ZTE, Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia, among others.

Free Accident Insurance for BSNL Subscribers

BSNL has introduced free personal accident insurance for all the subscribers who use their landline, wll, broadband, mobile service, etc. This accidental insurance is worth Rs. 50,000 which will be applicable for all new connections and existing ones too. With this you can claim this amount in case of loss of life due to accident and permanent disablity due to accident. Nice way to help the customers in a noble way indeed.

My experience of BSNL broadband on apple mac book

Recently I bought apple mac book. Bsnl broadband worked quite well in apple mac too. The ipod and iphone giant Apple's mac book has got safari web browser which is very cool for web browsing and its something new to browse in safari browser. At first bsnl broadband not worked well in mac os. But after downloading relevant drivers from internet (took me more than 3 hrs to search) and installed those drivers. Now its working very well. I posted this post to tell my experience with my NEW APPLE MAC BOOK.

Nokia Siemens-BSNL DEAL

Nokia siemens anounced that it had won bsnl contract to provide Broadband access across 7000 indian villages. The new access network’s high bandwidth will allow BSNL to deliver high data and triple play intensive services such as Video on Demand, Video Multi cast, IPTV, Video Conferencing and VPN among others to its customers. The network will also enable BSNL to provide connectivity to CSCs (Community Service Centres) and other e-governance locations, Nokia Siemens said in a statement. As part of the contract, NSN is deploying its Gigabit Ethernet-capable IP DSLAMs Surpass hiX5625 (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexers) and chassis based access switch (Surpass hiD6615). NSN will also supply end-user devices that will enable BSNL to provide speeds of up to 24Mbps for ADSL2+ subscribers over its existing copper infrastructure. The first phase of new lines deployment will be completed by first quarter of 2008.
